Creative Expression Workshops

For Therapists, Counsellors, Teachers, and Professionals

I offer workshops exploring creative expression as a way to support emotional well-being, reflection, and professional growth. These workshops are designed for therapists, educators, and other professionals seeking to deepen their connection with themselves and others through non-verbal, imaginative methods.

Why Creativity?

Creative expression invites us to move beyond logic and into the language of the heart. It provides opportunities for insight, emotional release, and connection. In professional settings, it can help prevent burnout, enrich self-awareness, and offer new ways to engage with clients, students, or service users.

What to Expect

Workshops are experiential, reflective, and inclusive. No artistic skill is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to explore. They may include guided imagery, journaling, use of symbols and metaphor, and gentle creative exercises that can be adapted into your own practice or setting.

Why Attend?

  • To learn in a safe, supportive, and reflective environment, with opportunities for both personal and professional growth.

  • Gain a deeper personal understanding of how creative expression can reconnect us with hidden or forgotten aspects of self.

  • Experience adaptable creative techniques that can be used with clients in therapeutic, educational, or pastoral contexts.

  • Develop confidence in facilitating expressive, non-directive exercises with clients, regardless of their perceived artistic ability.

  • Reflect on the role of creativity in supporting self-worth, resilience, and a stronger sense of identity.

  • Leave with practical resources and a clearer sense of how to integrate creative approaches into their professional practice.

No prior experience of art or creative writing is required — the focus is on expression, exploration, and meaning-making rather than artistic skill.

🌿 Who Am I? 🌿

This half-day workshop is designed not only as a personal journey of self-discovery but also as a rich learning experience for therapists, counsellors, teachers, and other professionals who support others in their growth.

Through hands-on creative expression, collage, guided writing, and symbolic drawing, you’ll explore how reconnecting with forgotten or undervalued aspects of self can bring renewal, insight, and empowerment. Alongside your own reflective process, you’ll gain practical tools and creative exercises that can be adapted and integrated into your own client work.

What you’ll gain:

  • Personal insight and renewed connection to your own creativity.

  • A toolkit of adaptable exercises to help clients rediscover their strengths, forgotten qualities, and hidden resources.

  • Fresh ways to support clients who feel lost, disconnected, or lacking in self-worth.

  • Develop confidence in facilitating expressive, non-directive exercises with clients, regardless of their perceived artistic ability.

  • A supportive space to reflect, recharge, and grow both personally and professionally.

This workshop offers both self-nourishment and professional development, giving you creative methods you can take back into your practice to inspire and empower the people you work with.

🌿 Rediscovering Self in the Midst of Grief 🌿

Grief can leave people feeling not only the pain of losing a loved one, but also a deep sense of losing themselves. Identity, roles, and meaning can feel fragmented or erased, leaving individuals overwhelmed and adrift.

This creative expression workshop offers therapists, counsellors, and professionals an opportunity to explore how grief impacts self-identity, and how creative methods can gently support clients in rediscovering what remains and reconnecting with parts of themselves they can be proud of.

Through collage, drawing, and mixed-media exercises, we will explore:

  • Acknowledging loss of identity – making visible the changes grief brings.

  • Finding inner guiding lights – connecting with strengths, hope, and resources.

  • Reclaiming self – creating tangible reminders of identity, resilience, and worth.

You will not only engage in these practices for your own reflection, but also gain practical tools and insights to use with clients who feel lost or disconnected in the wake of grief.

✨ This workshop offers a safe, creative, and deeply compassionate space for professionals to experience and learn methods that can help clients begin to re-find themselves while honouring their loss.

Date and time: Saturday 24th January 2026, 10.00am - 1.00pm

Location: Cleve Lodge, 23 Elm Ave, Long Eaton, Nottingham NG10 4LR

Cost: £20.00 per person

🌿 Beyond Words 🌿

Creative approaches for clients who struggle to articulate feelings

Many clients find it difficult to put their inner experiences into words. As therapists, counsellors, and helping professionals, we are often called to listen beyond language and provide gentle, creative ways for emotions to surface.

This one-day experiential workshop offers three practical, creative exercises you can bring directly into your practice. Through movement, metaphor, and creative expression, you will discover techniques to support clients in finding their voice without the pressure of having to “get the words right.”

During the day we will explore:
The Body Speaks – using embodied awareness and creative body mapping to give form to unspoken emotions.
Metaphor Mapping – harnessing imagery and visual storytelling as a bridge to hidden thoughts and feelings.
Creative Dialogues – using objects and projection to help clients externalise and explore different parts of themselves.

Who is this for?
Therapists, counsellors, coaches, pastoral carers, and professionals who wish to deepen their skills in supporting clients who struggle to articulate their feelings.

What you’ll gain:

  • Fresh, adaptable tools you can integrate into your work straight away.

  • A deeper appreciation of non-verbal and creative approaches.

  • Time for reflection, sharing, and connection with like-minded professionals.
